At Scarcliffe Primary School, we promote sports and physical activity across the curriculum to develop healthy and active lifestyles for all pupils and staff.
We regularly take part in intra and inter school competitions and events. Watch this space for updates and photos!
Year 5 visit Plesley Vale
This term, year 5 children have spent Friday mornings learning water sport skills. They have enjoyed it very much!
Cross country success
This term, children from years 3,4,5 and 6 competed in the Bolsover cluster cross country competition. We did very well: 3 of our children were put through to the cross country final with one of our children achieving 10th place out of over 30 overall!

Scarcliffe Rows to Rio
Recently we took part in Row to Rio, a Bolsover schools partnership challenge, where we joined with 43 other schools to row the 5830 miles to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
This was a fantastic event enjoyed by pupils, parents and staff. Photographs and further information can be found in Pupil Zone/Sports.
We are pleased to announce that our school rowed a total of 251 miles (404.152km) over the 2 days. A fantastic effort from everyone!
OVO women's tour
The Ovo Energy Women’s Tour is a major UK sporting event and the biggest cycle race on the Women’s World Tour calendar. The Tour will pass through Chesterfield on Saturday the 10th of June.
At Scarcliffe Primary School, we have achieved our bronze level school games award!
This shows the commitment and enthusiasm that the children and staff at school have towards leading healthy, active lifestyles and taking part in regular sports and physical activity.
